East Coast’s saltmarsh sparrow disappearing, scientists say

East Coast’s saltmarsh sparrow disappearing, scientists say. Scientists Say By PATRICK WHITTLE, ASSOCIATED PRESS PORTLAND, Maine — May 21, 2016, 2:27 PM ET

The salt marsh sparrow is disappearing from its home on the East Coast and could be headed for extinction in as little as 50 years, say scientists whose work could help protect the little birds.

The sparrows, which weigh about half an ounce, live in coastal areas from Maine to Virginia during the breeding season and migrate farther south in the winter. Researchers with a group of universities have been tracking them for several years and reported this week that eight out of every 10 of the birds has disappeared in the past 15 years.

The birds still number in the tens of thousands. But University of Maine professor Brian Olsen, one of the researchers studying the sparrow, said their population has dropped about 9 percent annually since 1998.

Email from President Obama: I've Got News For You on Overtime for employees

Because women are just born with the innate GENE of caregivers to children, parents and other family members this is causing an epidemic of poverty across the USA for females.

Did you know there is a age old law in the USA that the first female in a family is responsible for the care of her elder parents?.

Studies show that 40% of women have sole custody of their children and have sole responsibility to bear the cost of rearing their children. Moreover, woman have been losing billions of dollars a year on not getting equal pay!

Women are tossed down the money pit by society. As sole caregivers women they lose billions of dollars for retirement social security payment because they have lost years of credit to stay at home to rear small children.

More retirement women then ever are sleeping on friends couches when they retire because they can not afford to own a home or pay high rent. (Sole custody consists of an arrangement whereby only one parent has physical and legal custody of a child.) It cost hundreds of thousands of dollars to rear just one child.

Summary: President Obama announced that the Department of Labor will expand overtime pay to millions of American workers.
